mohessaid/girth released v0.15.0 on November 7, 2026. girth is a tool that selects only the pieces the current project needs from the agent skills you already have, and hands them over when needed. It is a project built with Rust and licensed under MIT, and the repository contains plugin manifests for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor along with an extension manifest for Gemini.
The most notable change in the 0.15.0 section is the widened scope of large tool output measurement. The CHANGELOG states that large tool output in Claude Code is now computed for all tools, not just Bash as before, and that even MCP tools are recorded per tool, based on the text the model actually reads from the tool results. It explicitly notes that Read (including line numbers), Grep, Glob, WebFetch, and ToolSearch were verified with a headless probe. The Codex plugin description also contains wording about keeping a local ledger of what the agent spends cost on.
However, the changes visible in commit 653fd25 are mostly version-string updates. The four plugin/extension manifests, plus Cargo.toml, Cargo.lock, and the GIRTH_VERSION in the run script, changed from 0.14.0 to 0.15.0, and a 0.15.0 section with comparison links was added to the CHANGELOG. Commit stats show 19 files (11 insertions, 8 deletions), but the changes revealed by the presented patch are limited to these. The 38x reduction in always-on skill cost claimed by the repository description and the CHANGELOG is an assertion from its own demo (hyperframes acceptance demo), and there is no external benchmark. Image Reads are counted as 0 because the text is empty, and calls that Girth rejected are not counted, so the measured values are not the same as total usage. From the contents of the commit alone, it is hard to gauge the magnitude of the performance improvement.
