g36maid/moodle-mcp is an MCP server that lets AI agents work with Moodle's courses, assignments, discussion forums, grades, and files. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a protocol that defines the channel through which agents call functions of external software. The commit 18bd177 of October 20, 2026 changed the documentation sitemap (sitemap, an XML file that tells search engines the list of pages) of this project from a manually edited copy to one extracted from the build output.
The documentation site is deployed to https://moodle.ntnu.cc via GitHub Pages. Until now the sitemap XML was a static file kept in the repository, and the deployment pipeline also ran a check that failed the deployment if a book page was missing from the sitemap. This commit deletes that static file site/public/sitemap.xml (15 lines) and makes the deployment step run node site/scripts/generate-sitemap.mjs to write a new _site/sitemap.xml. The checkout was also changed to fetch-depth: 0 so that the entire commit history is fetched. This is because the per-page lastmod (last modified timestamp) of the sitemap has to be extracted from the history. With a shallow checkout, the modification time of every page would be stamped with the deployment commit time. The patch notes state that the manually maintained copy contained one page that had already disappeared.
However, this commit only changes the Pages deployment workflow (.github/workflows/pages.yml) and the site files. It does not touch the tool implementations or response formats of the MCP server. The newly invoked site/scripts/generate-sitemap.mjs is not in this commit's change list, so the details of the generation rules cannot be confirmed from here. Whether old URLs that have already been deployed remain can also not be determined from this record alone. The repository license and the star count are likewise not included in this commit record.
