evannzhongg/nosis is a lightweight personal agent runtime that bundles session-by-session execution boundaries, OS-level sandboxing, computer use capabilities, a set of built-in tools, and Skill, Plugin, and MCP extensions into one. The GitHub commit 03cc986 of November 2, 2026 merged the lock code that memory writes and the session store had each been carrying into a shared file lock helper. Of the 230 changed lines, 146 were additions and 84 were deletions.
A blocking option was added to acquire_file_lock, so memory locking and session locking were unified onto paths that wait for the helper, and the duplicated _lock_file and _unlock_file implementations in the two modules disappeared. The lock file size check was also changed from the handle's append mode position to the result of os.fstat. The reason is that on Windows, a byte-range lock also blocks reads of the locked bytes, so the size is verified with fstat without reading it. The scheduler now handles leadership lock contention separately from other file system errors. Contention is caught as BlockingIOError so that polling continues into the next cycle, while other errors are logged as exceptions and then the scheduler loop is ended and the leadership lock released. Four tests were changed along with it.
That said, this commit is closer to internal structural cleanup than to a feature addition. The README reflects the scheduler's error handling policy, but no performance figures or concurrency validation results were presented along with it. There is only a statement that blocking mode waits for other owners, and no mention of an upper bound on the wait or a timeout. No release version tag was attached either, so it is hard to tell from this commit information alone which release it went into. Considering that if contention grows in environments where multiple processes share the same session directory, the blocking wait grows as well, whoever rewrites the file lock path needs to directly confirm there are no regressions.
