christopherowen/dgx-spark-networking is a repository that handles RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet)-based collective operations on DGX Spark without a switch, and that also bundles NCCL profiling and fabric tooling. The commit 1fd6a1fbd8dc4884057046d1ebd93d585c9e4bcf, pushed on November 1, 2026 at 17:04 UTC, touched a single file in this repository's vLLM integration (sparknet/integration/vllm/roce_all_reduce.py, 17 lines added, 5 lines deleted). There is just one point to it: the own one-shot AllReduce implementation embedded in vLLM (SparknetOneShotAllReduce) now handles only transfers that come in at or below the size of a single slot (_slot_bytes).
The change is visible in three decision functions. The reduce-scatter, exchange, and all-to-all rows all compare the tensor's byte count against _slot_bytes, and if the size is exceeded they hand off to PyNCCL (the regular NCCL call path) rather than using the own path. In all-gather, conversely, the sliced=True marker was removed. The commit message explains the reason for this narrowing as being so that 'large SP prefill chunks' use PyNCCL. Prefill is the stage in inference where the input is passed through first.
That said, the commit contains no performance figures. The size of a single slot is not given alongside it either, so it is impossible to know from which size the path branches. There are no benchmarks in this material either. Considering that the repository targets tooling for inference recipes for DGX Spark, this change is better read as an adjustment that routes large inputs to the standard NCCL path within a specific hardware and fabric configuration. Rather than an improvement that can be applied as-is to other environments, only the fact that the behavior in that configuration was changed can be confirmed.
