uspraveen/jev-reranker is a project that reranks memory search results using a calibrated decision space instead of embeddings. The 2026-09-25 commit 536b49c replaced the 38-second pipeline walkthrough at the very top of the README, changing it from a static poster image into an autoplaying GIF. The GIF is 4MB at 960px/12fps, and the 1080p mp4 link remains as it was.
The place this project occupies is the second stage of the search pipeline. The README explains that retrieved memory candidates are judged first by a System-1 model called Jev, and that the final ranking is set by a deterministic Python policy. It explicitly states that a Jev call happens only once per reranking and is not called once for every memory. The README also contains a 'generic use' item for attaching it to other search projects, and a BEIR comparison study (2026-09-23) item.
That said, what this commit touched is only documentation and media. README.md gained 2 lines and lost 4 lines, and the only newly added file is one GIF. There are no code, dependency, or model changes. The scores and comparison results of the BEIR study item are not included in this commit. A 4MB GIF immediately becomes a loading burden for someone seeing the repository for the first time, and in environments that do not support autoplay, one has to follow the mp4 link. The basis for this is the GitHub commit page (https://github.com/uspraveen/Jev-Reranker/commit/536b49ca5c2616d58b11194b2f669744963ad2bf).
