atticus-mac is a macOS-only voice assistant repository that runs on the user's Claude Pro or Max subscription without an API key. The latest commit e337345 (2026-11-04) fixes the page scripting setup so that it completes even when the Chrome menus are not in English, and reorganizes the code around the Swift 6.2 (Xcode 26) baseline. The overall change size is 146 files, with Atticus.swift adding 47 lines and deleting 12, atticus.py adding 12 lines and deleting 4, and the new test file tests/test_page_js.py adding 71 lines.

The core of it is Chrome's permission setting for page scripting. The onboarding code in Atticus.swift used to click the Chrome menu (View > Developer > Allow JavaScript from Apple Events) directly. The new code instead checks, after the user presses confirm, whether page scripting is actually allowed, and turns it on in place if necessary. The Python function allow_page_js, which handles page scripting, was modified as well. On the Swift side, the array expression that used to collect spoken words, profile names, shortcuts, and the names of installed .app bundles was expanded into loops and append calls, and signature and settled, which hash the screen state, plus description, which builds the description string, were rewritten from expression form into ordinary statements. In the calculation that compared coordinates, the Double conversion was made explicit.

That said, the only evidence this commit sheds is the commit message itself. The Swift 6.2 (Xcode 26) baseline and the setup behavior on non-English Chrome are descriptions taken from the message, and the contents of the added test file do not appear in this record. Version tags, release schedule, and license information are not presented either. What can be confirmed is the change in the code's behavior path, so it is too early to judge what will be included in the next release. Reading it only as an improvement on the setup automation side is the safe interpretation.
