openrod/openrod released 0.2.1. This repository builds a one-click sandbox for AI agents, and also provides an egress policy (rules that control outbound connections), MCP, skills, and audit functionality, and it is built on top of NVIDIA OpenShell. The merge commit 0625880 from October 10, 2026, 15:12 UTC (Pull request #55, 'Release 0.2.1') corresponds to this release.
The change visible in this version is the shortening of the OpenRod Cloud login procedure. When you choose a location in the local OpenRod and select OpenRod Cloud, a cloud animation plays in the location dialog, and the account login proceeds in the meantime. From 0.2.1 onward, the cloud machine starts as soon as the login finishes, and the separate 'Start cloud machine' step is no longer needed. Even if you close the dialog, the setup does not stop and remains as a notification. Also, if you disconnect the cloud account and then reconnect, the previously signed-in account is not reused and Google's account picker appears instead. These items are finalized release notes in CHANGELOG.md, where the 'Unreleased' heading was changed to '0.2.1'.
That said, the files patched in this commit are only three: CHANGELOG.md, ui/package.json, and ui/package-lock.json. Only the ui package version was raised from 0.2.0 to 0.2.1, and the commit statistics are 5 insertions and 4 deletions. The implementation code for the behavior whereby the machine appears immediately after login is not included in this commit, so the confirmable changes are limited to the level of the release notes. The license field in ui/package.json is stated as Apache-2.0, but the repository-wide license, star rating, language composition, and performance figures are not given. Therefore, for this release only the fact that the cloud connection procedure became one step shorter can be confirmed, and it is too early to judge how far the remaining features have been verified.
