The latest commit in gitbot-hq/gitbot is a change that touches only the documentation view. PR #38, merged on September 30, 2026, wrapped the README screenshots in a `<picture>` tag with a `prefers-color-scheme` media query, so that dark mode shows the existing webp and light mode shows the newly added webp. The fallback `<img>` was set to the light version so that a bright image appears in any environment. The targets are README.md (3 lines added, 3 lines deleted) and the 7 light screenshots added to assets/screenshots/. The source is GitHub commit 34135f2.

GitBot is a project that takes agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode as parts to build reusable bots, and lets you run them locally across multiple repositories while managing threads and permissions yourself. The README is the place where that usage flow is explained through screen captures, so images that do not match the reader's system theme show up as they are. The newly added light screenshots contain a hub screen where bots, threads, and conversations are laid out in a workspace, a bot creation form for choosing a name, agent, instructions, permissions, and mascot, a screen for setting the workspace and agent to open a thread, and screens for sharing a bot as code or publishing it to a marketplace.

That said, this commit did not touch code or runtime behavior. It is a documentation fix in which only the README markup and image files changed, so no features or supported environments have been expanded. The commit message also contains no release version notation. For those waiting on functionality, it is a change with nothing to confirm, and for readers skimming the README, all it amounts to is a tidied light screen layout.
