InkDoc is a local desktop app that turns documents into Markdown that AI can read directly. It came out for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and uses MarkItDown, Docling, GLM-OCR, and Markit as conversion engines. The latest commit, uploaded on November 5, 2026, is a dependency update that touched only CI configuration rather than app code, and all six actions in the GitHub Actions bundle were bumped to major versions.

What changed is the six files under .github/workflows/ (build-addon.yml, build-packs.yml, ci.yml, glm-ocr-track.yml, release-check.yml, release.yml), and nothing more than 44 added lines and 44 deleted lines. The bumped versions are actions/checkout 4.4.0→7.0.1, actions/setup-python 5.6.0→7.1.0, softprops/action-gh-release 2.6.2→3.0.3, actions/attest-build-provenance 2.4.0→4.2.2, actions/upload-artifact 4.6.2→7.0.2, and actions/download-artifact 4.3.0→8.0.2. Each action is pinned by commit hash rather than by a tag, and the commit was opened by dependabot[bot].

InkDoc's release is a pipeline that builds add-on and pack bundles, attaches them to a GitHub Release, and leaves a provenance attestation via attest-build-provenance, so this update bears directly on the release and supply-chain verification side. The CI runs on windows-latest, macos-latest, and ubuntu-24.04, and treats Python 3.10 as the floor for running from source.

That said, there is no change perceptible to app users. The version comments in a few workflows remain at the old values, so the reading conflicts with reality: for checkout, the actual pinned hash is v7.0.1 while the comment says v4.2.2. The auto-generated list at the bottom of the commit message also differs from the table above, showing setup-python 7.0.0, upload-artifact 7.0.1, and download-artifact 8.0.1. The reasons for jumping to a major version and the actual behavioral differences of each action are not documented. It is a change worth reading as a signal that the release pipeline's dependencies get updated regularly, and there is no grounds to read it as the app's functionality having changed.
