pro-vi/cc-stretch released v0.5.3 on October 21, 2026. This repository is a plugin that keeps Claude Code responses short and expands only the clicked passage in place. This version changes a single load path. The plugin is now reloaded even on older Claude Code versions before 2.1.300, which the desktop app still bundles.

The cause was an event name the plugin began using in 0.4.0. Older Claude Code versions do not have that event name, so the whole plugin was rejected and responses arrived only as plain text that could not be expanded. v0.5.3 fixes that rejection path, so responses show short and clicked passages expand in place even on older versions. What it covers is limited to Claude Code responses, and the star count is 404. The changes and the release date are recorded in the GitHub release notes for pro-vi/cc-stretch v0.5.3 (https://github.com/pro-vi/cc-stretch/releases/tag/v0.5.3).

However, the confirmed release notes contain no performance measurements and no comparison with other tools, and no license is listed either. The fix only takes effect in the range of older versions the desktop app still bundles, and versions after 2.1.300 already had no problem, so no visible difference appears. With the license unconfirmed, whether to adopt it in practice is better decided after checking the repository description separately.
