antoga/agents-contract is a repository that helps AI coding agents follow project rules. It provides an AGENTS.md contract template, a dependency-free linter, and a SessionStart hook for Claude Code. It is a setup that makes Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot read the same ruleset. It is written in Python and licensed under MIT, and the star count recorded in FACTS is 40.

The linter checks whether the contract contains the required sections and commands, and whether unfinished placeholders or values that look like secret strings remain. It also includes path checks, runs on Python 3.9+ without any extra dependencies, and can be used on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Continuous integration across multiple operating systems is also verified. The SessionStart hook checks the contract when a session starts or resumes, and runs dependency installation and tests when those are configured. It goes beyond merely organizing rules into a file, and provides a flow that checks for omissions and environment problems at the start of work.

There is no information on the latest release, and no benchmark comparing agent performance is given in FACTS. So there is not enough evidence to assert that this tool improves coding results. What can be confirmed goes as far as checking for missing parts of the contract or secret values, and running installation and tests at session start depending on the configuration. It is closer to a tool that checks project rules than a tool that improves performance.
