abacusai/simless v0.5.2 was released on 2026-10-17. According to the release notes, this version fixes a problem where "simless test all" passed without running the app's hosted test targets. abacusai/simless is a tool that renders SwiftUI screens as an accessibility tree without the iOS simulator so that AI coding agents can inspect them. The repository description states that view hot reload takes about two seconds.
The cause was that the package test results file was sorted ahead of the app test results file. As a result, the absence of the app's hosted test targets did not come to light. Now, if a scheme has no tests, the result is treated as not-run and exit code 1 is returned. It is a fix intended to keep a state in which no tests ran from being mistaken for success.
The release notes give the time taken to run 2,280 unit tests on Xcode 27.1. It was 473 seconds in the initial state and 491 seconds in the simulator run, and after the build 327~390 seconds, and 375 seconds with the simulator. Since these figures are results for that Xcode version and test bundle, they do not show execution times for other projects or environments. So it is more accurate to read this record as placing its weight on the behavior that surfaces missing tests as failures, rather than on any general speed advantage.
