ghorbelhamdi/buddy-android v2.1.9 is an update to a floating chat bubble app that lets Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode operate an Android phone. It restores the phone assistant instruction that had not been passed to models since OpenCode 2. The tool was available, but the model never received the role of phone assistant. As a result, when asked to "take me home," it would ask which website was meant, or reply that it could not see the screen.

The app connects Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode so that it runs on an Android phone. It says it uses the user's own subscription or free models inside the app, and that it requires no adb, PC, or root access. The core of this fix is that a tool being available and the model knowing what that tool is for are two separate things. Without the phone assistant context, even requests to control the screen can go off track and turn into questions about a website or replies that the screen cannot be seen.

In v2.1.9 this role instruction is passed again, together with restored guidance to confirm with the user before sending, paying, or deleting. So the change the release highlights is a fix to the instruction-passing problem that arose after OpenCode 2, and to the responses it produced. The provided release information does not say whether the same problem occurred in other coding tools, or whether behavior changed any further. The release summary focuses on a fix that lets existing instructions reach the model again rather than on new features. The scope verifiable from this version alone goes as far as the restoration of that delivery path.
