thesysdev/open-intelligent-ui is a TypeScript demo app published on GitHub that recreates ChatGPT's Intelligent UI with open-source components. No separate release version is given in FACTS. The app receives what the model streams in OpenUI Lang 1.0 format and renders it on screen. Instead of filling in a fixed page template, the model itself places the layout.
The core of this project is presenting model answers as an interactive UI rather than limiting them to text. Layouts include Col, Row, Box, Grid and Card, and media include a search image, tables, charts, maps and YouTube. It also provides SVG drawing and a sandboxed iframe-based HtmlView. On top of the built-in functions of OpenUI Lang 1.0, a total of 59 @functions — covering lists, numbers, strings, dates and data dashboards — compute data inside answers. The code language is TypeScript and the license is MIT. Node 24 is required, and the default model is OpenUI Cloud's gpt-6.1-sol. You can also connect an OpenAI-compatible API or use a local model via Ollama.
That said, this repository is closer to a demo implementation centered on OpenUI Lang 1.0 and 16 examples. There are function-level tests in 4 files, but no GitHub Actions workflow, so there is no evidence of CI verification, and no performance benchmarks are presented. You can therefore look into this generative UI approach, but its performance and operational suitability for real services remains unconfirmed.
